Jeep Safari from Kemer into the Taurus Mountains: What the Day Is Really Like
Updated October 22, 2026 · 6 min read
The short answer
A jeep safari from Kemer is a day in the back of a 4x4 on mountain roads, with viewpoints, a village stop, a swim in a cold stream and a simple lunch. It is not a rally. If you picture hard driving, look at the quad safaris instead. If you want a day away from the beach with someone else at the wheel, the jeep tour with lunch by the river is the one to book.
The four safaris compared

The day on the most-reviewed tour
The riverside lunch safari picks you up at your hotel in Kemer and heads into the Taurus Mountains in a convoy of Land Rovers. According to the listing, the track climbs above 1,500 metres, with stops at viewpoints and a village, a swim in a mountain stream near a waterfall, and lunch at a local restaurant. The group is capped at 22 people.
What reviewers add: a 2,000-year-old tree, a driver who stops for photos, and a lunch in a small traditional cafe. Several note practical points. One recommends beach shoes because the riverbed is all stone. One warns that early in the season you are taken high enough that you need warmer clothes than the coast suggests. One found the guide’s English limited, and the operator replied that it would take that on board. The listing shows the meal under inclusions, yet one reviewer calls it an add-on, so check the booking page before you assume it is covered.
How the others differ
The €33 full-day safari has a more detailed itinerary: about 30 minutes of safety briefing, an off-road section of around one and a half hours, a one-hour swim stop, a one-hour lunch, and another hour of off-road. One reviewer called it a good day with a fun, scenic drive and a basic lunch, but noted that you are crammed tightly in the back with other passengers. If comfort matters, take note.
The €45 Chimera night safari is a different trip. It starts around 5:30 pm, passes through Çamyuva and Tekirova to Çıralı beach for a swim, then goes to the Yanartaş flames and has dinner at a waterfall restaurant, with the return to Kemer planned for about 11:00 to 11:30 pm. The flames come from natural gas and, as the listing says, are best seen in the dark. Reviews describe the climb to the flames as tiring, and one visitor arrived while it was still light and found the flames hard to see. The listing names the entrance to ancient Olympos (€20) and drinks at dinner as not included, which is worth knowing when you compare it with the day tours.
The €35 family-friendly safari describes itself as a soft adventure for families, with a start around 8:45 am, a 35-minute swim, a Gedelme cave visit with a €2 entrance, and a return between 2:00 and 2:30 pm. It has only 5 reviews and 3.4 stars, so we can say little about how it works in practice.
Who should skip it
- Anyone who wants speed and control. Jeep safaris are passenger rides.
- People who dislike dust, bumps and tight seating. The listing mentions rocky paths and dusty roads, and one reviewer felt crammed in the back.
- Guests who need a quiet day. Groups can be large; the main tour takes up to 22.
- Families with very small children. We found no age limit stated for these tours; ask the operator, and note that the “family-friendly” label comes from the operator, not from us.
Our recommendation
For most visitors: the Jeep Safari with Lunch at Riverside. It has the largest number of reviews by a wide margin, a clear programme and a swim built in. If the evening is free and you like the idea of flames on a hillside, the Chimera night safari is the only one of its kind.
