Köprülü Canyon Rafting from Kemer: A Long Day for a Short River

Updated October 22, 2026 · 6 min read

Yellow raft with helmeted paddlers plunging through white water, spray covering the bow

The short answer

Rafting in Köprülü Canyon is the main whitewater trip on this coast, and it is a long day. The canyon lies in the Manavgat district, which one travel source puts about 90 km east of Antalya city, so the listings from Kemer run 6 to 11 hours, most of it on the road. If you want a short, easy outing, the Göynük Canyon is closer. If you want whitewater, this is the trip.

For most visitors the Koprulu Canyon Whitewater Rafting with Lunch is the one to book: €10.40 per person, 4.4 stars from 183 reviews, the largest review record of the five below.

What the river is like

The listings do not rate the rapids, so here is what travel sites report, and the figures vary. Most of the rafted stretch is described as grade II with a few grade III sections, over a route of around 14 km, passing under the Roman-era Oluk Bridge. One source puts the time actually on the water at about two and a half hours, which means the rest of your 8 or 9 hours is driving, changing, lunch and waiting for the group. The €8.90 listing says no previous experience is needed, but you will paddle and you will get wet.

Why €8.90 buys more than €10.40

The most striking line in the table is that the four-activity tour is listed cheaper than rafting alone. The listings do not explain it, and we will not guess. Check on the booking page which activities are included in the price and which are paid on the spot before you assume you are getting a bargain. The same question applies to the 5-in-1 tour at €27.64, which lists “buggy or quad”: ask which one you get.

The €10.40 tour has by far the largest review record of the five. The 4.7 stars for the combination tour come from 45 reviews, a thinner base than 4.4 from 183.

Picking by day length

  • Rafting and lunch only: the €10.40 tour, 6 to 9 hours.
  • A full adventure day: the €8.90 combination, up to 11 hours. Ask for the pickup time; a day this long often starts early.
  • No rafting: the €15 canyon visit with the Oluk Bridge, 9 to 10 hours. It is a sightseeing day by the river, so the price is for views and lunch, not for the river itself.
  • Your own boat: the private €42.50 tour gives a raft with an assigned instructor, which suits a family or a group that does not want to share.

Who should skip it

  • Anyone who dislikes a long day in a minibus. The drive is the price of whitewater.
  • Anyone with a late flight on the same day. Ask for the return time at the hotel, not the headline duration.
  • Pregnant women, people with back, heart or mobility problems, non-swimmers and young children. The listings do not agree on rules, so read each one: the €8.90 combination lists pregnant women and people with back, heart or mobility problems as not suitable; the 5-in-1 tour lists children under 6 (another line says under 7), pregnant women, people with back problems and non-swimmers; the €15 canyon visit lists pregnant women. The €10.40 rafting listing names no restrictions. We cannot advise on your health; read the booking page, ask the operator and, if in doubt, your doctor.

For a gentler day out of the water, the Göynük Canyon guide covers a half-day walk, and all canyon and rafting tours are on one page.

Our recommendation

For most visitors: the Koprulu Canyon Whitewater Rafting with Lunch. It has the largest review record by a wide margin and a price that leaves room for a second activity elsewhere. Pick the four-activity day only if you want the jeep, buggy and zipline, and check what is paid on the spot.
